How to Watch the BAFTA 2022 Film Awards: Stream the BAFTAs

Awards season is finally upon us, and for the British film industry, BAFTA is the highlight of the season. While UK audiences will be able to watch the same on BBC One, audiences from other countries may not have the same luxury.

Luckily, we’ve investigated to find out exactly how all viewers can watch, no matter where they are in the world. We have a similar guide to watching The Oscars.

When will the BAFTA Film Awards 2022 take place?

The BAFTA Film Awards 2022 will be held this Sunday, March 13, 2022 at 7pm GMT. The event will be streamed live from the Royal Albert Hall in London, as usual.

BAFTA on which channel?

If you are in the UK, the show will be broadcast live on BBC One and BBC One HD in the UK.

You will be able to see the red carpet arrivals on BAFTA social channels like Facebook,
TwitterInstagram, Snapchat (search for ‘BAFTA’) and YouTube.

How to watch BAFTA online and on mobile

If you’re in the UK and pay a royalty, the easiest way to watch BAFTA online would be through BBC iPlayer, which you can use to watch BBC One live.

This will also be the best way to watch the awards ceremony live if you’re outside the US. You’ll want to use a VPN like NordVPN, our currently recommended VPN for iPlayer, which allows you to browse the web as if you were in the UK and access iPlayer as usual.

You can also check out our list of recommended free VPNs, but the limited server options will make streaming quite difficult.

As always, keep in mind that this is in violation of the BBC’s terms of service, so proceed at your own risk. You’ll also need to set up a free iPlayer account, which requires a valid UK postcode.

Who is the organizer of the BAFTA Awards?

The host of the 75th BAFTA Awards will be Rebel Wilson, the comedian and actress known for Bridesmaids, Pitch Perfect and Jojo Rabbit. She’s also gone viral several times when presenting the award on stage at the ceremony, so she’s a natural fit.

The event will be hosted by AJ Odudu and Tom Allen.

Who are the BAFTA nominees?

The final nominations on the shortlist for BAFTA are now out. Dune leads with 11 nominations, followed closely by The Power of the Dog and Belfast.

It should be noted that Spider-Man: No Way Home did not win any awards, as it did not meet the eligibility criteria due to not being available on the BAFTA streaming platform for voters to watch. Sony does not allow access for fear of copyright infringement.
